Best laid plans

Caliban is destroyed.

Right on schedule.

I didn't tell them because maybe it means Krenshar will come home. Then, I can live with him and still make sure Lily doesn't get too far. I know she knows.

I just don't know if she knows I know she knows.

Well, "knows" may be a bit strong. She doesn't think right and doesn't really "know" anything. Just like I am 100 per cent organic, she is 100 per cent synthetic. At least I hope she is. There is no sign she's been reactivated.

Cody has it now. He says I can never have it. We'll see about that.

They come, they look around...

..but they never see me.

I can be sitting right under their noses, literally, and it is as if I am not there at all. Of course I'm not invisible. I'm just quiet. And I don't move.

When I do move, it is so fast that they cannot catch focus to see me. They think they saw something out of the corner of their eye, and must have been mistaken. Or, it is so slowly that they do not notice me, creeping closer and closer. Close enough to kill them. Krenshar said to break their necks. That's the way to do it.

I wish I knew where he was. I've been here on Caliban for days now and not seen him one time. There are a lot of people around, coming and going. The one named Thoth is here a lot. Theres something about him that says he would protect me, now, but if I grow up he will be my enemy.

I don't know why. I miss Aunty JJ. No one has come to see me. Its like no one knows, or cares, that I am here. Maybe that's a good thing. I know Seana wants to send me back to Ariel. If I go back, I will have to stay like I am. Every day I feel more and more like I can let my muscles grow and stretch and just be stronger. Every day I feel more alive. And every day I know that I have to go back, away from my Krenshar and my brothers, I will be weak again. Weak and separated from my herd.

I have a lot of feelings I don't understand. Sometimes I wish I could just stay with Seana. At last she likes to cuddle and talk to me about important things.

The lady with the chestnut brown hair had eyes like none I have ever seen before. And,
when she was putting me in the suit for the travel home, she never stopped looking at me.
She never spoke.

But as the door closed behind us, I turned and she was still looking. And then I heard it.

"As you wish".

I will be happy to be back to Hales with Seana. But, home is Caliban. That has not changed.

And it will not change.

I want to go home. I even miss Lily. I keep dreaming about her. In my dreams, she is wearing blue. In my dreams, she is happy. And in my dreams, there are flowers.

I miss my daddy. I want to go back to Caliban. I miss my bed. I miss my bear.

Whispered Help

I don't know if anyone will receive this Wave. I'm trying to send it out while they are asleep, so I can't talk too loudly. If you get this, please take it to Mayor Seana on Hale's Moon.

The lady seemed nice. But she's not. I went with her like she asked, she said Krenshar told me to come with her, so I did. She said she was taking me to him.

I had watched him put Lily and that boy in a special room, and I saw the people come see them.

Then I saw Krenshar go all dim and walk away.

Then there was a big flash and Lily and that boy weren't in the room, then the boy was gone and Lily was laying still. I thought maybe she was ended. I felt sad. But then she talked, even though I could not hear what she was saying. It sounded like "Krenshar...". And then the lady just bursted into my room. I guess everyone was too busy to notice.

So when the lady said she was taking me to him, I went.

Only, on the way, while we were up in the air over Caliban, some other men came and she took their money and said "As promised".

I didn't want to go with them but they said if I didn't they would tie me up and make me go, so I went. They were scary and needed baths.

They didn't talk to me the whole time we were in the air. They didn't even look at me, except to make sure I was belted in. One of them sat next to me, and I tried to ask him where we were going, but he just looked the other way.

They landed at a place called Botany Bay, and another man came to the ship. He didn't say anything either. He just nodded.

They didn't let me out of the ship. But I heard them talking. They said "I think we're safe", and "Wasn't sure if he'd take her now or later".

I think they were talking about me.

I don't think they were talking about Krenshar though because when I said "will I get to see him soon" they said "you're never going to see him again, so shut up. Just shut up".

Then they slammed the door and left. I looked around at the room they had me in and it was very pretty. It had lots of pretty things in it. But when I looked closer, I could see it was a cage. Only it was a pretty cage. The door was locked and I could not get out and there were bars on the window - I could see out clearly, but when I touched it to see if I could climb out through the hole, it shocked me.

I heard them say we were heading to somewhere that is very dusty, and that as soon as the container arrives, they'll be "finished with this job".

I don't know what that means, or what will happen to me.

Every day they feed me and a woman comes in and brushes my hair, washes my face, and dresses me. Then I sit all day until lunch. She comes in again, and does it again. Then I sit until dinner. Then she comes in and undresses me, combs my hair, and tucks me into bed. She doesn't say anything. She looks sad.

I don't know what will happen to her either.

They said something about having "shore leave" and who was going to keep an eye on me, and then they all were drinking until they got drunk. One of them said "She'd bring a pretty penny in Necr..." but then he stopped talking all of a sudden. There was a single shot and no one said anything else.

They are sleeping now. I hope this gets out and that when they wake up, someone tells them we are going the wrong way. I want my Krenshar, and I want to go home. I want my bear. I want Miss Seana. I don't hate her. I want my...I want to see Lily.

Journey

I want to live with my Daddy. I have told them this several times, but they don't seem to listen.

They hear. But they do not listen. So I boarded the boat for Caliban. No one knew I left Ariel. They thought I was at the studying hall. So I had a good head start.

The trip was a little scary. I am not sure why but it just was. I felt like someone was watching me. At one stop a man and woman got on, and they had scanners. They said they heard a child was on the boat, and they were looking for her. I was afraid it was me they were after, and I felt sick. My nose started bleeding, like it does when I need the medicine.

They pointed the scanner toward where I was, but nothing happened. It didn't go off, and they just looked at me like I wasn't there. So I guess it was not me they were after.

It was scary though, so I got off at the next stop. I felt really sick. My clothes were so tight, and I had a rash all over my skin too, like little points of red dotting me. I felt so hot. I guess I must have found where the doctor was, because the next thing I know, I'm in the doctors office and Miss Seana is there, just staring at me. Cody is there, and I'm wearing his shirt.

Then Seana tried to tell me that she is my mother. She was talking about how I was in Lily from the start and all this DNA was made, and all kinds of things that I don't want to hear about. Lily is a cat. I am a REAL girl. I am not like, some kind of freakshow.

I tried to find a way to Caliban but NO ONE would take me. No one. So I took a ship and went on my own. Daddy met me and said I can stay.

That's good because I am going to stay. He said I can be queen of Caliban and all the Replicants will protect me.

But he also said I am sick and he has to fix me. So he took me BACK to MacLaren's Drift to try to find Mindo, to get my medicine. He said he has been looking to 'settle up' with Mindo for a long time. We didn't see anyone though. He left, and then a lot of people showed up.

They said Lily had killed a dog. Well, I found it and they said it was her that did it. It was nasty.

Miss Jai said I can hide on her ship, but I found a place to hide on Mister Windy's and Mister Travis' boat. If I curl up small, they can't even see me. So, I can stay there until Daddy comes for me. Aunty JJ is nice. She is my favorite best friend, forever. She says I am a sweet pea.

If they kill everyone here, I will tell them to let her be last. Or maybe first. Not sure which is better.

Dancing in the Stars

I decided I wanted to go to Caliban to see Mister Krenshar, but I wasn't sure exactly how to get there. I took some money from my bank, and bought a ticket to Hale's Moon. The man who sold me the ticket let me land the ship, and it was fun. I told Miss Seana I was intending to land, and she said "Go ahead". She was happy to see me, but told me I should have told them - Grandmother and Grandpapa- that I was coming. Well, she actually asked me if I had "asked" them.

I don't understand that. If I had asked them, they would have said no, so why would I ask them. I didn't tell them because I just wanted to go.

Anyway, when I got to Seana's office, Miss x0x0 was there. She just kept looking at me in that creepy way she does, and then she left me alone with Seana. Seana said I could go to Caliban, but she really didn't like the idea. She said it would be better if Mister Krenshar met me half way, but I wanted to see where he lives. She finally said "ok" and I went to wait at Fooks for her to finish with her work. Well, I started to go to Fook.

But I saw Miss Raids.


She was just standing on the corner of the street, like she was waiting for something or someone. I think she is beautiful. She reminds me of Lily except she doesn't have spots, or ears like a cat. It's kind of embarassing that Lily is my mother with those ears and spots. I know it shouldn't be but it is. And, she talks funny. Well, hopefully no one cares about that. I don't have to live with her anyway, and anyway, she hates me.

I spent some time looking at Raids, and then I saw Mister Griffen. I recognized him right off, and asked him if maybe he could take me to Caliban to see Mister Krenshar. He said he would, and that we could go right away! So, I sent with him to his ship. It is really fast. He said he wouldn't be responsible if we got eaten by Reavers. I'm sure he was just making a joke. He's nice. He doesn't look like the pictures Lily has of him though. His hair looks different. Anyway, he took me there and let me fire some lasers on the way. It was fun.

When we got there, I had to go through a lot of doors. They all opened for me, almost like magic. It was probably the ID Mister Griffen gave me to get me through them, but sometimes, even after I didn't have it, the doors opened. I saw some men fighting. They just looked at me but didn't talk to me. I went into a big room. You get into it through a mouth, with a big tongue sticking out. I jumped on the tongue and went in. It was empty but there was a picture of a cat on the wall. And there was a chair with spots on it, that looked a lot like some kind of animal skin.

Then I heard his voice, and I followed the sound and found him. He was happy to see me. He jumped up and down, and we played and then he showed me his house. He showed me where he worked. He showed me his office, and there was a Reaver there, in a cage. I got in another cage and pretended to be a monkey like in a zoo. He said I am a monkey. He's so silly.

Then we went for a walk, and for no reason at all, some music came on in the middle of the store, and I started dancing and he did too. It was so fun. He threw me up high in the air and caught me, and we danced like penguins in a row. I got tired after a while, so he took me to a swing and I played on it.

I don't really understand what he does at his new home. He says he is doing experiments so he can fix me and that Lily. I didn't know we were broken. He says I am not supposed to be organic. That's silly. Of course I am. In science I am learning about how we are made, and we are mostly water. We are not like machines. They don't think or even know they exist. Only, that doesn't make sense, beause Mister Krenshar is a machine and he thinks.

Anyway, I got a ticket to go back to Hale's Moon, and I went back all by myself and I was just fine. I sat with a nice man and he told me stories. He was funny. He looked like a grown up but he talked like a kid, like me.

Then, I called "home" like Seana said, to let them know where I was, and I am planning to go back after I find Miss Jai. I brought her something from Ariel. I hope she likes it.

It sure is quiet at Hale's Moon these days. The only thing that looks different though is there has been a lot of digging. I looks like someone is looking for something under the ground, and they are digging up until they find it. They should just ask me. I know a lot about what is under there, even though I'm not allowed to go there any more. But maybe I don't have too, because what is down there will probably surface and then the digging will probably stop. I hope so because if whoever is digging keeps going like they are, the Moon will collapse from the inside out.

I hope I get to stay for the weekend. I'd like to see Gallagher and Miss Sabrina. For some reason I feel like I want to go see Miss Imrhien. I don't know why, but I just want to see her.
